Today we streamed part of an interview from Artists in the City on location in the City in Scarborough with Adrian Worrell who spoke about his spoken word EP Scenes from a Winter Home and his book neotony.

poetic works

Adrian Worrell explores the philosophic, through the popular, and the external by way of interiority. neotony, his first published book of poems, is a playful yet brooding volume spanning topics as diverse as identity and relationships. In the spirit of sankofa, the work taps “Scattered Africa’s” comedic-tragic potency; fostering growth through retrospection. Crisp, rhythmic, algebraic, and evocative, neotony inaugurates Worrell’s promise as a singular voice in Afro-Canadian writing.

Adrian Worrell is an educator, writer and critic who lives and works in Scarborough, Ontario. He has taught English and Mathematics in elementary and secondary schools. Most Saturday afternoons he appears on CIUT 89.5’s Vibe Collective. He can be contacted at k43worrell@gmail.com.
